Re-Fridgee-Eighter 2015What a wonderful day it was! For the first time ever, I’ll be participating in a running event. It is a race, but for me for as long as I can complete it, it’ll be a victory. And why wait to do a good thing? I decided to sign up for the earliest race in the area– in the middle of winter, in February.

I could have waited for warmer weather, but I needed motivation for running… And this is a great one. I am shocked and grateful for all the support I am getting- friends and family pledged $50 in all. Now I really have to start and finish.

I currently am doing about 2.2 miles, alternating between walking and running. The goal is to get this to 5 miles. I will practice on the treadmill until I get to 5 miles and then start training for the frigid weather. To accomodate for the uneven ground, I set my incline to about 5%.

Now just practice, practice, practice!
